Seven Brunswick Police officers have been sworn in as Special Deputy US Marshals for the purpose of joining the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. The task force is a partnership between the US Marshals Service and local law enforcement agencies to track down and arrest fugitives with active felony warrants. With the help of resources that are not available to local police departments, the Marshals Service assists in serving Brunswick felony arrest warrants. In return, we assist the other members of the task force with their warrants.
In the event of a high-profile crime in Brunswick, as a member of the task force we will now have a large pool of experienced law enforcement officers available to help us do an immediate search for any dangerous suspects while they are still on the loose and a danger to the community.
