Throughout the year, we partner with local coffee shops to bring police officers and the community members they serve together–over coffee–to discuss issues and learn more about each other. Building relationships. One cup at a time. Click to learn more.
Each year in August, we partner with the Medina County Health Department and our fellow Medina County Law Enforcement Agencies to host a car show event which also serves as the kick-off event for the annual Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over traffic safety campaign. This event happens at Laurel Square and has hundreds of classic cars in attendance.
Our older adults continue to be the #1 target for frauds and scams. We work with our local 55 & over communities as well as the Medina County Office for Older Adults to educate our older adults on current scams and frauds and give them tips on how they can help keep themselves from becoming a victim.
Twice a year, in the Spring and Fall, we partner with the Medina County Drug Taskforce and host a prescription drug takeback drive-thru event to collect those expired, unused, no longer needed medications as part of the National DEA Rx TakeBack Day.
Every year in the fall, we participate in National Night Out (NNO). NNO is a national community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships. NNO enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. Furthermore, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. Click to learn more.
Every year, Brunswick PD participates in several Safety Days that are hosted by local businesses such as Home Depot. We also participate in other Safety Day / Safety Fair events all around Medina County.
For several years now, Brunswick PD has been a recipient of grant money from the American Academy of Pediatrics to promote bicycle helmet use among our children. The grant provides free bicycle helmets that we distribute to local kids and talk about proper use and fitment. Click to learn more.
