I-71/Boston Rd. Interchange Info
Brunswick City Council has taken many steps to declare its opposition to the proposed interchange at Boston Road, including passing legislation and participating in local media.
State Senator Mark Romanchuk, State Representative Melanie Miller, and Assistant Majority Whip Sharon Ray held a news conference on September 14, 2023, to discuss constituent concerns about the proposed highway interchange. Many City representatives and residents were in attendance.
In October 2023, the Ohio House Economic and Workforce Development Committee began hearings on House Bill 276. The intention of H.B. 276 is to repeal the portion of the state transportation budget that demands an interchange between Brunswick and Strongsville. H.B. 276 was sponsored by State Representatives. Melanie Miller and Sharon Ray. H.B. 276 has had 4 hearings in the Economic and Workforce Development Committee.
Senate Bill 155 passed the Ohio Senate 30 to 1. SB 155 was introduced by Senator Mark Romanchuk; “To repeal Section 5501.60 of the Revised Code to remove the requirement that the Department of Transportation construct certain interstate interchanges.”

Many Brunswick residents are asking how to contact state officials in regards to the Boston Road/I-71 off ramp issue caused by Section 5501.60 of the Ohio Revised Code.
