Brunswick Police launching new text system in an effort to improve communication with crime victims and the public
On May 4th, 2023 Brunswick Police will launch a new software called Spidr Tech. This platform will enable us to send fully automated follow-up messages to victims of crime and 911 callers. It will also allow us to close the communication loop by collecting community feedback about each person’s experience with the Division of Police.
As our mission statement reads, the Brunswick Division of Police are here to “…provide a safe and secure community through proactive partnerships, while maintaining integrity, dedication and respect.” This new tool will allow us to leverage technology and send text messages with updates and important information to people who call us for police services. The initial message will include the date and time you called us along with the assigned officer and incident number, said Chief Brian Ohlin.
If there is a police report, victims of crime will receive follow up messaging that includes the case status as it progresses and crime victim resources.
A final component of this new service enhancement is an invitation to participate in a short, mobile-friendly survey to our “customers” asking about satisfaction, resolution status, professionalism, and customer service. This will allow us to provide valuable feedback to members of our team and make improvements when needed.
