Councilman Anthony P. Capretta was re-elected to Brunswick City Council Ward 4, for a full four year term in 2007.
Presently, Councilman Capretta is Chairman of the Building and Building Code Committee. In addition, he serves as a member of the Safety and Environment Committee as well as the Services, Utilities, Technology and Cable Committee and the Storm Water Commission Committee.
Councilman Capretta is a homeowner and resides at 4188 Dennis Lane. He currently serves his ward as precinct committeeman 4G. He has been a dedicated public servant for 18 years and is currently employed as a weights & measures iInspector for the Cuyahoga County Auditors office. He is also an experienced appraiser for the Auditors Office and is a registered notary public for the State of Ohio.
Councilman Capretta brings with him a experienced criminal justice and law enforcement background. He served as a Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court & Juvenile Court bailiff and as a commissioned officer for the Cuyahoga County Courthouse. He is a graduate of Cuyahoga Community College with a Associate of Science degree in law enforcement and Case Western Reserve University Gund School of Law-Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy graduate.
Councilman Capretta is a member of the Brunswick Chamber of Commerce, Brunswick Historical Society, Brunswick Recreation Center and the Brunswick Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie Number 3505. He is also a parishioner of St. Ambrose Church. Councilman Capretta believes Brunswick is a great place to live and raise a family because of our friendly people, excellent schools, police & fire service, city services and business atmosphere.
Councilman Capretta continues to be a advocate for our schools, seniors, victims of crime, the handicapped and disabled as well as volunteer for the United States Veterans Relief Organization.
