If you've signed up for CodeRED, particularly the optional weather alerts, and have decided you would now like to opt out, there are different procedures, depending on which part of the service you wish to drop.
Opting out of all weather alerts
If you do not want to receive any weather alerts, please call 800-566-9780 from the phone(s) you wish to opt out, and choose Option 2.
Opting out of thunderstorm alerts only
If you want to opt out of thunderstorm alerts but still would like to receive tornado warnings, please call 800-566-9780 from the phone(s) you wish to opt out, and choose Option 2.
Then, go to the CodeRED website and re-sign up for phone alerts. There is a place near the bottom of the screen to uncheck "thunderstorm warnings".
Opting out of Police/City messages (emergency warnings)
If you want to opt out of police/city messages, please fill out the opt out form and bring, fax or email it to the Police Department. This will opt you out of receiving only police/city messages. You will have to call the 800-566-9780 number to opt out of the weather alerts, if you signed up for them, from each phone you signed up.
